That's something totally different. Imo you are comparing apples with oranges rn. Unless it wasn't a comparison.
Paying idols for hugs would be very weird. Hugs are some kind of gently gesture to me and should only be done when both sides are comfortable with it. And to me that video seems like the case.
Maybe it's a cultural difference between us? Hugging people you know or friends is pretty normal here. It's also used as a greeting.

In the end, Lee Sooman is an old rich businessman and the de facto boss of their entire company, and powerful enough to avoid being jailed as an Interpol criminal and being able to essentially ban people from the entire Korean industry. He didn't hire his idols because he loved them but because he wanted profit from them. So I don't know where these notions of "papa YG" or "papa Sooman" came from.
