I've been meaning to PM you or someone about this, honestly. What is the point of tagging in general?

[ Yes, I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to social media posting, believe it or not, because I hate social media like Twitter, etc. ]

basically if a thread is made about your bias group's comeback, or you made a thread that you think other fans of your bias group would also enjoy or like to discuss you can use the fandom tag to send the other fans a notification so they dont miss it
of course if you request to be added to a tag you would also be notified if someone else uses the tag
