What I thought were crushes was actually more like a "wow they're cool I want to be their friend" but because of how many straight people are around me and in media I always assumed that meant I had a crush on them sexuality and romantic attraction are so confusing.

Agree I dated 1 man ever and it was the worst talking stage (6 months) and dating was bad too (4 months). Kissing that man was definitely my awakening that helped me realize I dont think I could be with a man.

It also made me accept that trying to be straight wouldn’t make me straight magically, so that was one benefit ig.
Now I’m dating someone and very happy in the relationship, I think it fits what I want and what they want.
