Ariel's race isn't even white anyway - SHE'S A FREAKING MERMAID! And even if she was white, it's not even important to the story! It's not going to ruin your childhood to see a black girl playing her, so get that stick out of your asses and just anticipate the movie!

very unnecessary for sure. i also saw tons of people talking bout it and i dont understand what the big deal about it is. there are occasions where ur skin color or even nationality/blood might be important for a movie role, but this is not a case of that at all. its a story about a fictional character
