First, why do catcallers exist? How do they have so much power to make people feel like dirt? Rhetorical questions <.<

I've been catcalled numerous times. It happens more now that I live mostly alone and in the middle of an urban space.
There is absolutely no reason to be catcalled but I'm even more confused when it's cold, raining, I'm in very baggy sweats, and walking my pup.
What about that is a turn on?

Fuck I'm so annoyed and pissed every time this happens or I even think about it.

I would like to. I'm very talk about defending myself in those kinds of situations but I actually just freeze up in panic and bub x.x i joke will get be murdered but it could happen. He sees some strange man walking my way, he stays put and won't move. Altho now he starts barking at them sometimes. But not all strange men. I don't know who fits the bark criteria for him.

honestly it's intimidating and unsettling.. i just pretend i don't hear them because if someone is shitty enough to catcall they probably won't respond well to getting called out. it's not a compliment, it's harassment

i hate that this is such a grey area in the law and women have little to no protection from it. and i totally don’t blame you for not being able to do much. you just freeze or just get super anxious. you should just ignore them. and always carry a pepper spray just in case youre going through a shady area, or if things go out of hand and it gets physical.

Unless there's a crowd, I get scared if one of them will react if i ever do call them out.
Too many local incidents, and another just happened recently where someone stalked a woman home and sexually assaulted her.

always got my keys between my knuckles and pepper spray on my bag.

From a male's perspective, since your face is not covered, depending on the men seeing your face, that could appeal to them to catcall you.
In other words, if you have a pretty/beautiful face according to them, you'd get catcalled.
I've seen social experiment cam videos on YouTube of this happening during winter season when women were covered up with coats, but their faces were not and they get catcalled.

Even if you wore face masks or scarves, your eyes would appeal to them. I don't know.

one time, if this counts. a day i was running in a track, some girl looked at me and told me i had a nice booty, then her and her friend started gossiping. i felt hella weird bout it and i only dealt with it once. cant even imagine how it is with girls
there were a couple other times i was lowkey harassed, but catcalling i only remember that one

ill tell you this it's pretty common in hispanic countries to cat call someone but for me, I dont like it either way, I find it annoying & disturbing unless we're in a relationship but even so, I wouldnt let them cat call me too much
