When should AI art be used? (and make your own) (1 Viewer)

So, there was a whole issue where a guy submitted an AI-generated art in a contest and won first place. Many people were unhappy because if it's AI-generated, all you have to do is type some words in, and the AI will make it for you - so he didn't make it himself. Some people also fear that AI will take over, and a human's hard work on an art piece will go unnoticed - but I disagree with that.

So in your opinion, when should AI art be used - personal, professional, never, etc.

And have you ever created AI art? I just made three pieces using DALL-E 2 to test it out. It's pretty neat, though it seems to work better if I'm specific about what I want. And it's fun - I'm definitely using it for personal use.

I think it's fine but not in an art contest. If it's an AI-generated art contest then that's fine.

Otherwise, it just undermines the other participants.

That being said, I wouldn't go to an AI-generated art museum.

Yea I agree with what Daisy said. If it’s an AI generated art contest it’s completely fine. But not in a regular art contest. That’s just unfair imo
