In Taeyeon's solo debut song titled "I," the featured rapper Verbal Jint felt really unnecessary to me.

If he was not there, I would love the song 100%. But, since he was there, I've enjoyed it 99.9%. Yes, it's a tiny gripe.
I wanted to hear only her voice in the entire song.

I probably shouldn't have been surprised about SM switching music styles like that for "I," but I was really hoping it would only have her voice in it since
the whole point of Solo music was to have only one artist showing their vocal capability and what made me a bit upset was he was in her debut album's title track.

So, to my casual listening ears, having a rapper in songs similar hers just kind of interferes with the pacing.
