I am already fed up of cygwin (1 Viewer)

Having using it for almost a year for PHP programming, it's stuck on an old version. I'm wiping out it out from my computer. I'll install something that could do a better job. I should have done this long ago.

Does it refuse to upgrade?

No. The PHP packages are currently not being maintained. The maintainer abandoned it.

That sucks, I hope you can find a better replacement that you enjoy

Thanks. I think my best choice would be Xampp. Not exactly the same thing; but for PHP is much better. If I configure it correctly, I can even have multiple PHP versions. That's what I currently want. The transition will be a bit stressful however. I'm already feeling it, and I've been only gathering information and planning.
