When you think of an idol you think of a role model. But to someone who’s 28 years of age, its a lot harder to relate to new groups who have 18, 19 year old or even underaged members. So I’ve come up with a list of idols that I actually “idolize”, who technically are my role models and have traits that I want to have in myself
JiU of Dreamcatcher
I’ve seen Dreamcatcher content the most out of any other group and Jiu is always the nicest, most caring person that I’ve seen from the year they debuted from 2016 till now. She is nicknamed the bunny leader for a reason and you can 100% tell that she cares about the group’s success, their wellbeing, and their fans. Her wholesomeness is something a lot of people strive to get.
Sakura of HKT48/IZ*ONE/Le Sserafim
I think Sakura speaks for a lot of introverts in that she’s achieved so much in such a short time, has been criticized constantly, and has been immensely successful despite it all. She’s been open about her insecurities in her singing before but always still manages to get out there and improve herself. Hell, her new YouTube channel is all about Sakura overcoming new things. All of these things is what makes me like her. The fact that she’s a decade into her career, still going, at only 24 is something I praise.
Wendy of Red Velvet
What can I say about Wendy that hasn’t been said before. Wendy contains the amount of happiness that I hope to achieve one day. Always nice, always humble, always smiling, I shouldn’t even have to convince you, she just IS a happy person. I’ve seen clips of her catering to her fans on her way to work and always just going out of her way, no matter the situation, to address them. Not every idol does this. Just a small thing that goes a long way and its just something I admire.
Chaeyoung of TWICE
When I watched TWICE for the first time in my baby steps of my kpop journey, the little short haired rapper is the first to catch my eye. She sorta defies conventions, she’s tomboyish, she’s creative, she’s free spirited and wears it on her sleeve. She’s the idol that blazes the trail for others and let me stop gushing about her because you and I both know who she is.
SeolA of WJSN
There’s one word I can describe Seola and that’s just “genuine”. Maybe its clear through her maturity being the oldest of WJSN and being the same age as me, but she carries herself well seemingly undeterred from criticisms. When random chatters started to call her and EXY ugly one vlive, she handles it so well that I don’t think those comments ever arose again. She’s also honest and again, genuine. Always admitting her fears, her desires, and always giving out advice to fans.
Chuu of LOONA
Chuu is the textbook definition of a selfless person. A walking ray of sunshine that sprouts smiles wherever she goes and through her struggles with her company and the terrible handling of LOONA, it inadvertently showcased Chuu’s amazingly sweet personality. Completely sacrificing her own time and money for her fans and only for her fans. She doesn’t care about anything else other than the people who actually love her. And that to me, is what truly makes her a special person.
