I find the melody of this song and the muffled piano notes just gorgeous. Together with Seungmin's beautiful vocal delivery, this genre suits him like a glove. Seungmin's voice elevates any song.
2. Muddy Water (Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix)
What can I say, this was an instantic classic at first listen. The second I heard that intro for the first time I knew this was gonna be one of SKZ very best. I wasn't wrong. Never knew how much I needed a boom bap SKZ track. Changbin and Han's rap skills are a gift that keeps on giving.
1. Love Untold (Hyunjin solo)
Those who know me will not be surprised at this choice for #1 and will bring up the Hyunjin akgae allegations. It is true that Hyunjin is my bias and one of the biggest reasons why I started paying attention to Stray Kids a lot more last year. And Hyunjin has solidified his spot as my bias many times throughout the past year. But this song... it singled him out for me even more if that's even possible. The first time I heard this song I was completely blown away by the lyrics. They are so well-written and incredibly heartbreaking. Not only that, but Hyunjin's delivery was perfect. He gave the song the extra punch it needed to get the message across and quite honestly that's one of his biggest strong points, and he's been good at that since debut (his Hellevator verse is one of my all time favorites). It's the perfect mix of emotion, diction and dynamics. This song is amazing, from start to finish. Love the adlibs he adds throughout too. Just, perfect. I'm so proud of him for this masterpiece.
I thought nothing could beat Muddy Water for me but here we are.
