I never knew she is only half japanese even.. but I remember some stories from Somi where she said she was also treated extremly badly because of being only half-korean

Now it also makes more sense to me how Somi and Giselle got close.. sad reason though

they're really cruel to foreigners :( though it might be the leftover fear from the war and all the colonization that was just passed down from one generation to the other (doesn't justify anything ofc)
