obviously these days lots of contact details are stored in our phones so if you happen to lose your phone could you remember the phone numbers of say three people?

I think I can remember two maybe not three...

I can recite the phone numbers of my close family and pretty much guess the rest of my extended family.

a lot of them have similar area codes and some went in groups to go get phones so bursts of two or three are consecutive numbers.

I know my work number, my grandmother's number and emergency services but that's about it. (does my own number count lol)

I don't really call or text anyone anyway because I'm not really a technology person so maybe that's why.

oh I should explain area codes for us telephones. US telephone numbers follow this format>> (###)-###-#### and the first three numbers of the phone number places where the phone number is registered (if its landlines, it stays, but cell phones migrate ofc) there are famous area codes like (323) for Los Angeles, (212) for NYC and (808) for Honolulu, Hawai'i

I totally didn't know that...
here in Oz all our numbers are sorta random #### ### ### 10 digit numbers we don't have area codes for mobile numbers but we do have them for landlines hence my confusion...
so that does that mean you could have two numbers the same but for different areas?

like a 323 123 4567 and a 212 123 4567?

I know my brother's no. only cause he chose AAA n last 4 digits are same as our house former land-line so its easy to rmbr.

Also my other brother's no. is 1 digit difference from my old no. ABCDEFG n ABCDEFH so i sorta can rmbr his no. still even after i gave up my old no. Also DEFG was my yr of birth n DEFH was my bro's yr of birth(it was anagram so not 19AB/19AC but sthg like 91XY/91XZ. i dont key in ABCDEFH but i just mnemonically recalled the no. for this post.

All other nos. are unremembered unless saved in my phone/written down somewhere. I couldnt retrieve nos. from my old phones tat died/screen broke/gave up the ghost but luckily some phone apps save nos. n chats online. (Srry i cant rmbr my mom's no. Its saved in my phone)
