I'm surprised they haven't had a NCT Tokyo sooner. Expansion into the Japanese market as an East Asian act makes far more sense then trying to do the NCT Hollywood idea that I know they planned on doing or are still planning to do.

Yeah it’s been rumored for awhile. Perhaps the timing is better now.

I think COVID probably pushed it back considering how stupid the Japanese border policy was up until recently.

When I flew to Australia in December 2021 and transitted at Tokyo-Haneda this is how we left the plane (first two announcements were in Japanese with no English translations but I'm assuming this is what they were): "All Japanese citizens who are making domestic transfers within Japan, please exit now" once that was completed then "All Japanese citizens who are disembarking at Tokyo-Haneda please exit now" then (finally in English) "All remaining international and Japanese international transit passengers please disembark now" then we were all handed a laminated green card that said "International Transit" and we walked through the airport by the Japanese border force until we reached the security checkpoint.

You've got to be fucking kidding me that they don't have this unit nailed down by this point. I hope this is just misinformation if the unit is to debut in summer as promised, and instead that these global auditions are meant to support NCT Hollywood.
