Maybe I was optimistic in thinking that kpop fans would chill out with the introduction of an AI group. They seem to pick apart every detail of real humans and since AI’s are seemingly perfect that wouldn’t happen… right? Right? Well I was severely wrong. “They’re an Aespa/KDA copy” - yall only relate them to them because thats the only AI girl groups we’ve been exposed to. Same thing happened when tripleS debuted - “ugh they sound just like newjeans”. If you don’t like MAVE: and Pandora, simply don’t pay attention to them, how hard is it? And yall gotta admit the song SLAPS

To be fair they are critiquing the parts that are man-made like the music and lyrics and the overall sound. It'd be more confusing if they were critiquing the members themselves given that they are all very clearly a mixture of some of the most popular idols.

When people get more and more isolated socially (look at the 'hikikomori' scene in Japan), the last thing we need are more synthetic worlds that try to replace human interaction. What's next after stanning virtual idols? We even don't visit concerts anymore and streaming them using VR headsets?

I saw this live performance of K/DA some time ago. It is well done, maybe too well done.



K/DA are still human idols too. But there will be full AI groups for sure.
Probably I'm just a pessimist, but I have the feeling that this a trend could lead on the wrong way...

If you don't like the music that's fair, but AI artists are really nothing new… it’s no different than Hatsune Miku and people never had a problem with it (the opposite, she outsells all of our faves lol)

And it’s not like they completely replace human Idols… it's just something new companies are trying, because virtual characters are so popular at the moment
And like any other trend it might stay or not, we will see
But as long as the music is good, I don’t see a problem with it

It's new and for whatever reason, people do not always react to 'new' in a good manner. I think the K-Pop fandom has become extremely closed minded over time and instead of ignoring or giving a well mannered, polite criticism of the new AI groups and new sounds being produced from groups, they feel entitled to spew hate because no one can really stop them.

I have chalked it up to people being bored and having nothing better to do in their lives than mash their keyboard over something that they don't like. There are plenty of groups or songs I do not care for from a lot of groups, but you will not catch me saying anything hateful about it. A simple "it's just not for me" would do, but people like to be dramatic and start drama to get reactions

I don't really see ai groups replacing real groups tbh, but ik that's a fear some kpop stans have.

Personally, I'm more neutral to it. Will I ever stan? No, but I don't mind them being there. And I'll listen to the music sometimes if I like it enough.

I love AI and machine learning. I actively learn it. But when AI Idols start replacing talented humans I get mad. When you throw your hat in with an AI idol you are actively shitting all over the dream of a real person who should be doing the singing and dancing. When you stan AI Idols your saying it's perfectly ok for companies who start replacing your Stans with computer generated nothing. Blackpink doesn't need Lisa, Jennie, Rose, or Jisoo, just put this computer generated junk in her place. The fans will suck it up and accept it!
