Tragic Backstories are so Clichéd (1 Viewer)

And also me while trying to do a brief backstory for a character profile

26 years ago, 8-year-old Haydée witnessed her parents being killed by an Underworld broker named Mr. Devious. In her attempt of escaping, she ran off with the Shika Shika no Mi: Kirin devil fruit, without thinking it through. During her escape, Haydée ate the fruit and snuck into a ship that belonged to the Moonlit Mirage Pirates. The young girl was discovered by the pirate crew’s right-hand man and shipwright, Takumi.

Yeah… This is pretty much a condensed version of it since I don’t know what of details to add​

A simple version of what happened:

The girl’s parents try to scam the broker in order to get the devil fruit he had. He kills them as he is aware of the scam. Little girl watches the situation close by and saw what the man did. She impulsively stole the guy’s fruit and ran off with with because of what she saw.

Yeah… This is pretty much a condensed version of it since I don’t know what of details to add​

A rough beginning is a basic human understanding so it makes characters relatable and dynamic. No story is ever interesting with out bad stuff happening.

Tbh though does someone want to read a story about a person who is happy, has a 9-5 job, lives with their partner, a pet, maybe a kid, and just live normal or happier than normal life? People like to read about unique things and tragedies I feel.
