you have really a very extreme view on frodo I never considerd him to be arrogant, can you give an example for his arrogance? And yes Sam and the others helped him a lot, I thought that was the entire point of the fellowship

I also do not remember him "taking the ring" as you say it, in the beginning it was given to him by gandalf and then when the fellowship was build, it was decided by the others, that he should keep it

I never read the books so I don’t know if it’s different there

but for the fellowship he said to the others that he should the ring, and was insistent upon it, no one else suggested he should have the ring first or anything

As far as the reason for him wanting the ring, it was mostly just so that he felt important

If he was insisting on carrying it the entire time, you would expect he’s purer or has stronger willpower as to not get corrupted by the ring, but at the volcano itself he got corrupted. Boromir was the only one who tried to take the ring, but besides him, he wouldn’t let anyone hold the ring for him even briefly, which often made it much harder for the mission. Sam even showed no corruption with the ring and gave it straight back to Frodo but he was still untrusting and also became corrupted by it before being saved, as well as becoming possessive of the ring

I mentioned Sam specifically bc someone had told me he was being hard carried by everyone bc he’s a hobbit and I should watch the movie again when I grew up

but Sam is a hobbit too and was hard carrying him!

i just found him useless, everyone else had to constantly save him and he was dragging the others down. He held the ring but didn’t have less ability to get corrupted or anything, and did get corrupted, but still refused to make things easier for everyone else by for brief moments allowing Sam or someone else to carry the ring till they escape to make it easier. And it wasn’t fate or anything that he had to carry it all the time either

You are very harsh on Frodo and say Sam did a lot better, but one of things about the ring is, the longer you carry it, the more it corrupts you. Sam only wore it for a very short time, we do not know what would have happend to him if he would have carried it longer. I'm not saying he would have done worse than Frodo, but we just don't know
