Last year, we didn't quite meet the goal, so we had to dip into my savings but this year looks promising as we are just in February and have reached $245, my goal this year and the next will be trying to cut cost on-site maintenance without affecting the browsing quality of the site, it will be hard for sure as we had to employ a decent protection system besides cloudflare to protect our site from DDoS attacks, most of us were affected back then by those attacks. After i reduced the cost to run the site, i will look into upgrading the forum to the latest version and adding new themes, will probably be around Q1 2024. Thank you once again to everyone who contributed in running kpopsource from 2018 till today, it's been quite a journey, but the community & friends we made along the way is worth it for us to keep going at it.

Just help us out when you can, does not have to be this year or the next, i had planned to fully fund the site after a year or two since site started but ddos attacks started and it was out of my ability to do that, i hope the members contribute what they can little by little over the years to keep the site running, i would say if i had to cover, i could afford to contribute $600 euros yearly but with the economy going bad during covid and now i am struggling, i don't think i could cover 600 euros this year.

Edit - I also don't want to monetise the site with ads. We have tried, but it ruins the reason i started this community which is built for the community.

It's fine really, i don't really want to impose on the members to spend much of their money on us when they can better spend their money on their kpop merch & support their idols, would just appreciate when they can financially spare a few bucks to help the site is enough, if things turn for the worse or if we even lose many traffic, i think i can afford to sustain the site for a few years with my credit card if needed.

Yes sadly that is the only platform we could register on, stripe was seldom used so the company deactivated our account there.

You can pay with prepaid cards which I have done but it does ask you to join Paypal as a guest by inputting an email. So you don’t necessarily have to have a Paypal account but it still makes you go through Paypal technically speaking.

Be careful doing this. If anything goes wrong because you didn't actually join paypal it can't be tracked or undone.

I donated 80 euros last year via that method and thankfully I haven’t ran into issues yet. However there is that chance… isn’t it possible to troubleshoot via your card provider tho?

Nope, I went down that road with an AKP issue...
