Kpop songs that shouldn't have rap parts (1 Viewer)

I wanna start this, by mentioning that this question has nothing to do with the ability of a rapper. I saw a video about this topic and thought to myself how different some kpop songs would be if the mandatory rap section would've been omitted? Some songs just don't need it, they are good on their own and honestly some kpop rappers have amazing vocals too that could've been utilized better in said songs! So why must they include a jarring rap section if it isn't needed?

One example is T-ARA's Like The First Time
Comes around 3:00 and is DRASTICALLY different from the soft and melodic song, also made even more different by the rewind in the music video.


Are there any songs you think could've been fine without a rap part?

I've said this before but Taeyeon's I song from her debut solo album.
Verb Jint's insert didn't fit which in turn wasn't a perfect song to my ears.
In other words, I wanted to hear HER VOICE ONLY, not a featured artist as well.
So, in my mind, when I'm reminded of the song sometimes, I deliberately ignore his part.

I'll post more when I think of them.

One I think of where they could at the very least have shortened the rap was Jonghyuns Crazy. But I might be less opposed to if it was a different rapper.

I think the rap itself is good but it's just very out of place. You know the production team had a solid arrangement during the demo and then was like "oh shit yeah what about the rappers!?"

Usually especially cute songs don't have the best fitting raps, but i personally did enjoy it here 🤣
