What do you think is the best way to choose a leader? Oldest member, most talented member, member with the longest training period?

But honestly i think oldest and longest trainee isn't always the best leader, neither the most talented. People might not recognize it, but being a leader needs a type of personality too. I have been in the fore front of some groups in organizing and stuff, for school and for summer camps and while i did do well technically i ABSOLUTELY hated it, and was stressed beyond belief when things got fucked up. A good leader is a good problem solver, a person who can unite opinions in a group, a person who brings the best solutions to a problem by listening to every individual and combining their perspective on it.

For ex. Stray Kids members always say that Chan is a good leader because he is focused on his work, but the team is always a priority. If the members feel uncomfortable about smth he is there to bridge that communication distance between the team and the company. I think that's admirable.

I agree with this, what is the point in appointing someone leader just because they trained 2 years longer or one year older then another member? Some people will never be able to fill such roles or cause a big problem if they get appointed.

How was Bang Chan appointed?

He chose his team himself. Before the survival show JYP gave him the opportunity to choose his team from the trainees that we're in JYP already.
He is an older trainee, trained 7 years, but there was a time when he was alone in the dorms (i assume after got7, and day6 debuted) and so every next male trainee was younger and more inexperienced than him so the company trusted him to make his own team.

Hyunjin once mentioned that as trainees they would group into different teams too for monthly evaluation and Chan's team almost always got good results. That's why he sas glad he got chosen by Chan for the survival show.
