On Feb 24 I saw a very red low hanging crescent moon and it freaked me out and confused me. It looked very close to the Earth. It was about 11 at night and the moon was setting very fast for the time. I never paid attention to the moon setting but it just seemed off to me.
So like any normal human, I checked Twitter. No one in my area was talking about the moon or something red and crescent shaped in the sky.
So i did the next normal thing any human would do.
I freaked out on Discord to some friends. ILY @Exi @Day

I then decided to do some more research and found a plausible explanation. But it's still iffy to me as no one else had talked about it.
I live in the city. If a mouse sneezes, it'll be all over local twitter.

the first time i saw the moon like that i also panicked but i saw it when it was a full moon (i think i saw the harvest moon tbf). vry freaky. some time the moon just be like that and its weird

Was it recorded somewhere that it was the Harvest Moon? I keep trying to find something but it just says feb 24th moon was a Gibson waxing crescent and no other event happened. X.X

Was it recorded somewhere that it was the Harvest Moon? I keep trying to find something but it just says feb 24th moon was a Gibson waxing crescent and no other event happened. X.X

srry i meant the one i saw back then, tho i did google it first just to see and it looks like the harvest moon happens only in september and october. im invested in ur case and also keep googling why this may have happened LOL, i went deep diving ksjfkjd.

i found out about moon illusion, when it's just perception and the angle you're looking at it makes it look like that, its hard to explain bc it's just so weird lmaoo.

In the middle of the page it shows a moon illusion involving a crescent moon and it turned red as it kept lowering.

This was a first for me too. It was a first to see it red in general as i never see it during an eclipse or special moon event.
