I got curious and googled whether male ballet dancers go on pointe, and google says they usually don't (but sometimes do, often for comedic effect which I find weird why it's comedic but anyways). Maybe they don't want to ruin their feet, though it seems like for women they generally do go on pointe if they're a really high level, maybe they enjoy it but their feet probably don't (correct me if I'm wrong about any of this). I know they probably don't actually consider the fact that feet are getting ruined as the girly part, it's just funny to me how girls are suffering through that part and men are just nah. I do know men sometimes take pointe classes too for strengthening stuff but I'm guessing not enough to destroy feet to the level girls do. :coronawimwim:
I jut picked the first couple feet pics on google (in a non creepy way) :haylul:

Men have to carry the females. It's one thing to hold your own weight on pointe, but it's another to carry another person's weight too
True but can they not drop to flat feet while carrying them and be on pointe at other points? I'm assuming no one is on pointe 100% of the time they're wearing pointe shoes, or is that wrong? I never did ballet so I don't know that well how things like that work.

Found this video, at the beginning it says that men were just love interests at the beginning so they didnt require to be on pointe. Kinda side characterish ... Idk
But i dont have time rn to watch it all xD

I finished the video. In summary, she says old gender roles are the reason for men not dancing on point. Some people suggest they shouldn't because they weigh more but according to her that's nonsense and pointe might even be easier for men because they have stronger feet while women's are more flexible as a rule. There's no other reason she lists other than "that's a girl thing, we don't do that", but there exist roles for men on pointe (as stated in the op, mostly comedic roles where they don't need good technique because they're a parody, though there's one male dance group that dances seriously on pointe, though some still see them as parody too because they're on pointe and men). But she also says more men are training on pointe, whether for performance roles or training and technique purposes.

Hmm i see, so tonanswer your question it seems to be a "girly thing" for some xD
But i think it's a progress if more men try pointe.

Honestly tho in my opinion noone should try pointe cause its painful af, but thats just my persoective and ofc i wont change shit xD

how's the healing process mate?
Good! The doctor says it’s looking great, I’m walking around, and there’s no pain (other than some exercises but that’s to be expected). I’m starting to do more at PT too and soon I won’t need the brace if I’m just walking and light stuff like that :sanapray:
