so, finally all 37 songs are out, which ones are in your top5?



my top7:

1. denmark (reily - breaking my heart)
2. moldova (pasha parfeni - soaele si luna)
3. austria (teya & salena - who the hell is edgar?)
4. czech republic (vesna - my sisters crown)
5. serbia (luke black - samo mi se spava)
6. switzerland (remo forrer - watergun)
7. cyprus (andrew lambrou - break a broken heart)


biggest disappointment this year was cyprus and sweden for me.
dont get me wrong, cyprus has a good song (which is in my top10), but I was hoping for a more 'classical' sound like in the past.
also loreen is a great singer, but she is doing the same all over again. the song is boring to me too.

i'm not into esc as much as before and tbh this year i only liked 4-5 songs and i'm rooting for loreen to win it all. there is a lot of hate towards our polish representative blanka and claiming we should have sent the song gladiator by jann but unpopular opinion - out of these two songs, i'm glad we chose solo

But well... my opinion might change when I watch the contest.

I don't think there was any disappointment for me this year.
Even though, when I watched the Danish National Final, I kind of wished another song had won instead, even though I do like Reiley.

I admire anyone who reaches the Eurovision stage but honestly i sometimes feel eu music is still in the 2000s when a chorus was shouting on word on and on. Idk ... I think there is a reason i listen to kpop and american music.

Biggest Disappointment is Blanka with Solo because we could've gotten Jaan with Gladiator instead or literally any other song from the Polish National Final because Blanka was by far the worst vocalist, and probably is within these 37 artists as well.

Overall I find the repeated lyrics in this year extremely jarring for some songs. Sure the songs can't be more than 3 minutes long but most songs repeat the same 2-3 sentences for like the last 1:30-2:00 minutes of a song. Just kinda wish there was more to all the songs. They all feel very superficial.

gotta give props to the Greece singer though, he composed and wrote the song completely by his own and is only 16 years old iirc

I didn't knew before she was announced for Sweden 23, that she actually applied for the ESC in 2017 as well with this song


and while I like Tattoo, and I think it's a great song, it can barely get on the level that Statements was on

We should host a Eurovision watch party here. I went to one in another place and it was fun, esp as someone without knowledge about the back history so it was helpful to watch with those who knew. 😂

Biggest disappointment. Croatia. I generally don't like bands at Eurovision that want to attract attention at all costs. Same with Romania. Mediocre song, mediocre singer. But hey, we have some dancing girls in dessous, so the male Eurovision fans will vote for sure. Not all men are that predictable!
