The newer BTS stuff. I was a hardcore ARMY until DNA or Fake Love era? The last era I truly liked was probably the Wings/YNWA era (and I did go to the Wings concert). I just can't get behind their newer stuff. And it's not for the reason that they're more popular. I really miss songs like Run, Save me, Spring Day, and I Need U. It might be because I just liked their old stuff so much.

not only, i was a hardcore stay from miroh to around go live era and honestly after thunderous it felt like they started to reuse more similar style concepts and adding random parts into songs that they knew would blow up even if it didnt fit the overall vibe. it isnt really surprising as they gained the most fans during thunderous so obviously youre gonna want to make the most of it, still it lacks the creative essence they had in their post debut eras.

I definitely see where you're coming from. I started liking them since the Mixtape era and stayed around until Miroh before I fell out of the kpop fandom. I listened to their more latest stuff recently, and some of their older stuff did sound more creative and more distinct.

IU ... The songs are pleasant but nothing groundbreaking.
NCT, Aespa.. SM just throws in the weirdest shit sometimes. It's not just weird, but annoying. The sticker - flute, get me get me - savage. They get stuck in your head but not because i like it. And Savage has a great pre chorus too, which makes me sad.
Stray Kids - I get they hype, but some things are overhyped. They overuse Felix's lines and give some to Hyunjin too. They tryna make another "5 star michelin moment" maybe. But i did like their verses, just the chorus sometimes...eh. For example, i think Charmer wouldve been a great title track, and they were thinking about it too.
Nmixx - the change ups were too drastic, they shouldve eased the listener into it.

Just generally companies and idols are really forcing this slogans in songs, probs for tiktok fame. Which is sad, cause most of these groups have great songs, but they overplay the "catchy parts"

New Jeans Ditto is a good example. Simple but effective , and fresh. I wanna listen to it all the time.

yeah but thunderous was their first cb after kingdom, they more than doubled their sales compared to the last album (in life had 715k, noeasy 1.6m)

with kingdom they gained recognition but imo the thing that makes the fans stay is the music, so since they saw the album did so well they probably thought good enough, we'll stick to it and let go of their original experimental concept

luckily theyve kept it for some of their bsides tho, like lonely st and venom
