A year I thinkah don't worry, I think your post fits well in this thread
how much time does have Kep1er left?
oh sorry I did not mean successor in the sense that they continue IZ*Ones concept, it was just as Kep1er is the next Mnet survival show girl group after IZ*One. Also you said the produce series was more popular, in my opinion that has a direct correlation to the produce scandal, as people have lost trust in such shows and don't even tune in anymore, which is the worst possible punishment for any show. Ofc other factors can also come into play here, like produce having a better concept for the show or other reasons. The reasons you gave only come into play after the group was already formed, which is ofc not helping the situation at all.i don't think kep1er is seen as the "successor of iz*one" tbh. even though they were both formed from mnet survival shows, both groups have very different concepts. the produce series was also a lot more popular than the planet series. i don't think kep1er's lack of popularity is due to the scandal, rather, i see it as the fandom being divided and the girls having songs that are either a hit or miss with the gp. i don't follow them so i might be wrong but this is what i have observed
all produce groups suffered from the scandal, including iz*one. i don't think theyre "immune" to the produce scandal just because they were allowed to continue as a group even when it was announced that mnet rigged the show. as someone who has been watching produce since the start, x1 and iz*one were probably the biggest victims of the rigging. both groups received a lot of hate from netizens at that time and were even boycotted by some. mind you, iz*one was even at a risk of disbandment when the scandal broke out. kep1er on the other hand was not associated with the produce series since they were from girls planet so the scandal didnt affect them that much
its also different in the sense that X1 was just starting out and got hit by a massive scandal, while with Kep1er we are looking at the situation that the contract was successfully completed without any scandals (hopefully!)eh, I’m not sure about that. Maybe it does matter to some extent but the labels opinions and higher ups matter more.
when x1’s future was under discussion, iirc, representatives at the meetings suggested to bring in the members to get their thoughts but they were turned down. Ofc, that was years ago and perhaps the circumstances now can be different.
Just to illustrate your point a bit more, here the debut dates of the gorups in question:I think Kep1er was a little unlucky to launch right in the thick of so many other girl groups that had a more interesting sound, better dancers/performers/singers or ladies that better fit KBS. (All these ladies are pretty, but Kep1er was particularly unlucky to launch near some of the gen's It girls.)
Even if you take out the big budget groups like Ive, LSF, NJ and NMIXX, I also think in performance, they often also looked weaker than even other mid-tier nugu groups, who have actually been quite strong, like PurKi and Billlie, and nugu nugu groups like Craxy, XG and Lapillus.
I don't think their management helped by waiting too long and seeming to change direction with the sound several times when the group didn't really have an established identity. (Even other rookie groups have a clear sound & style).
Not necessarily. They could develop a different form of contract that allows for multiple activities in multiple groups.I remember witz IZ*one it was said, if one single agency involved does not want to continue the group, it has to be disbanded. Is this the same situation with Kep1er?
Kep1er debuted in January of 2022 and have a 2.5 year contract.how much time does have Kep1er left?
Korea has liked them. consistent 300k is solid.I think they came back with a cute and fun new song:
But why does it have to be on the same day as IVE.. they have 18 hours to make a big impact until peoples attention moves on, and half of that time is sleeping time for most people
I feel like it would have been so much better for them to comeback one week earlier.. it was really peacefull last week.
Its extra spicy as they are the spiritual successor to IZ*One, while IVE has former IZ*One members. Also while IZ*One and its former members are imune to the fallout of the produce scandal, Kep1er (after X1) is probably the group that suffers most from it. At least I always had the impression the public gave them the cold shoulder from the start.
no that was more pedis, and teh assorted cemj spin up companies.Starship, despite having their own trainees in the group, was tasked to manage the entire group?![]()
Queendom 2 killed Kep1ers hype entirely I feel like they went from a new group with potential to just kind of being there so fast because of the effect of the show which the other show made groups didn't get to that point at all really.Korea has liked them. consistent 300k is solid.
Its just compared to ive ssera and NJ they do not fare well.
'I think Queendom hurt more than helped in public perception.
IZ*one had Public issues it was just the fandom was strong enough to over come it.
It helped that they got a full year before the hard sandal. before that is was just the common int fans griping that the j girls got shafted. Similar to what Kep1er got from their voting.
heck they got black balled from all teh year end shows and awards after the album had to numbers to win.
They and the fans had about as strong of an us against the world bond as i have seen baring bts.
About all that have that in Kep1er is the hb fans.
Also iz*one had a clear identity sound/ center/ face / variety they cant seem to settle on Kep1er.
It exposed the fact that while really good dancers the team was not well constructed/ experienced to compete with Good/Solid all around groups.Queendom 2 killed Kep1ers hype entirely I feel like they went from a new group with potential to just kind of being there so fast because of the effect of the show which the other show made groups didn't get to that point at all really.

They would be finished around July of next year.
Oh, and the album is on Spotify now!
ok so they still half of the time from their contract left
I thought the scandal hit IZ*one only after they were already close to the end of the contract (like in the last half year), is that not correct?Korea has liked them. consistent 300k is solid.

I'm still always really surprised to hear things like that... there is so much money invovled in those shows and they can't afford a trainer for the girls..?no that was more pedis, and teh assorted cemj spin up companies.
Eunbi had to run many of the practices as they were staff free.

oh I did not know this.. or that participating in queendom could have such negative effects for a groupIt exposed the fact that while really good dancers the team was not well constructed/ experienced to compete with Good/Solid all around groups.
Lovelyzoh I did not know this.. or that participating in queendom could have such negative effects for a group
Are there any other groups taking part in Queendom 1 or 2 that had similar negative effects afterwards??
what was the issue with them? Unlike kep1er they were not a rookie group when they took part?Lovelyz
The scandal hit just as Bloom IZ was to come out a year after debut.I thought the scandal hit IZ*one only after they were already close to the end of the contract (like in the last half year), is that not correct?
You mean IZ*One had public issues from the start or after the scandal? But I understand they got removed from the award shows... had they won, it would have just fueld the anger and outrage of the public.
what are hb fans?
