I Dont even know what to say, but i would like to get your thoughts on this

But heres the comment section...i assume its mostly older adults

the only thing i really have to say is that i see their point, but some of this is just harsh
you cant just snatch it away from a child
i think some adults fail to realize the mental struggle that alot of students have in this newer time
and the big difference is that we aren't them, we are a different generation, it should be fully expected to do what they did when they were younger and in school

I do agree with the phones being put on the desk for ex and given back during break. Anyone can get easily addicted to phones. No wonder it's a problem in school.
Berating children doesn't work either. You get the opposite effect. If students are rude about it, u can use point deduction from tests and so on.

i can see why its frustrating, but also being the teacher that kids hate walking into class because of their phone doesn't really help with the engagement. i understand why teachers can put something in place after warnings for the whole class, but also phones are a very relevant thing in everyones' lives agree or disagree. so rather than banning it you need to find a way to work around that with the class.

Really is an age thing because the new generation grew up like that, and sure phones are distracting, teachers get frustrated, and social media can make everything worse, but you can’t blame the kids for doing that. It would be too harsh.

I`m sorry, but where exactly is the problem?
I dont think those comments are toxic at all.
if there are rules in school that forbid the usage of phones in class, the teacher has all right to take the phone away and give it back after class is over.
ofc u cant apply those rules for break time, but we talk about students using their phone while the class is going on! which is rude af to the teacher btw.

u are all so wishy washy when someone calls out your mistakes and are crying just because u cant use your phone for 45mins.

u know what? I dont even have a mobile phone and yes I`m still alive.

younger ppl dont realize that this is a HUGE problem. I always remember my friend saying that she could not live without her phone. girl, u are addicted to your phone. its a problem and you should start using your phone less. its not like the world is going down just because u cant post a heart emoji to your friend (thats probably sitting in another classroom).
