the “your biases are probably just as bad” argument confuses me. Sure, they might also be like Lucas, but unlike them we have more or less implied proof that he sucks. With them there’s no proof that they’re also dicks. So you can decide that everyone’s terrible for no reason, or you can wait to pass judgement when there’s signs or proof that they’re that bad. The second makes much more sense to me, and I completely understand why people wouldn’t want to support him, and by extension normalize and practically approve of cheating by minimizing it. Anyways, if my biases were in his place I’d drop them too if it seemed more likely or not that it’s true. Besides, being legal doesn’t at all mean that it’s an okay thing to do. A different thing, for example declawing cats, would also earn a person a spot on the shit list for me even if it’s not against the law and it’s a part of their “private life”.

We don’t know the full truth of anyone, yet constantly judge them. Might as well say we don’t know the truth about murderers or whatever because we don’t. Of course it’s not the same level, but when someone does something wrong I think saying that we need the “whole truth” in order to drop him or whatever is silly. We’ll never get the whole truth, not for him, not for anyone. You’re free to like him or whatever. But I just think bringing other idols in, even if not by name, just doesn’t make sense.
There was no direct proof of him going into detail about what he did. He did acknowledge that he did something/hurt someone, and while that might be damage control, it doesn’t seem to fit in SMS apology pattern. Other SM idols were caught up in scandals, including NCT. But some mysteriously were ignored and required no fake apology so the idea that Lucas apologized for something he didn’t do doesn’t hold much water for me. Anyways, an apology wouldn’t make a difference because no matter what he said it would be a “fake apology” in some people’s eyes. To me, the fact that he/SM acknowledged and had him apologize for me seems too fishy to brush under the rug as a fake apology.
And like I said you can be a terrible person and commit no crimes. I don’t see how that’s suddenly all peachy just because you did something terrible but not illegal. There’s no reason to believe that he regrets doing any of it. Besides, he’s older than me yet somehow I know already and have known that cheating and playing with feelings is wrong. He’s old enough to understand those things. It’s not rocket science that that’s the wrong thing to do, people know that at much younger ages than him so I don’t see why him being exposed would be the catalyst that finally made him understand.

If it wasn't true do you think SM would have kicked him out instead of issuing one of their lackluster statements? Chanyeol was accused of cheating and went on hiatus but he ended up rejoining alongside a statement that rumors were false. I doubt they'd have kicked him if there wasn't some truth to things

one more thought on SuperM, I think the move up of Kai’s enlistment date definitely throws a monkey wrench in the SuperM plans considering Kai talked about planning solo concerts out as far as August. I can’t imagine the group without Kai but I suppose it is feasible. They still have a narrow window to work in - if the Korean govt is focusing on public service workers starting as soon as possible, SM will have to rethink all plans that involve Taeyong, who will definitely be a public service worker with his back.

Additionally, lots of comments hating on his group mates and how they were taking job opportunities.

In China, this was also the time the Kris Wu case was breaking and while that was a much more serious situation, this was a time of serious concerns around behavior seen as predatory towards fans by kpop stars. SM usually doesn't comment on cheating scandals but went out of its way to not only apologize but ensure he posted a more specific "sorry for my behavior and those I hurt" apology, which certainly made it seem like there was smoke to the fire. (In contrast, on Chanyeol, for instance, SM didn't say shit.)

Now if SM is parking someone for a scandal, they usually bide their time, wait for things to cool off and then start testing the waters with appearances and stuff to gauge the temperature. Nope. Nada.

He posted some cryptic posts to his IG every time the group had a big moment without him (and not msgs of support, mind you), which would get his fanbase buzzing about him. (IMO, it seemed petty af and didn't really garner sympathy to his side.) SM is lazy as hell, but when they started photoshopping him out of pictures at events and re-recording the back tracks without him, it was pretty clear he wasn't coming back (which again, smoke, etc.)

When Chris Lee, the CEO, posted a pic with him, there was a very very strong backlash from K- and C-fans, which maybe finally sealed the deal? Dunno. Fundamentally, NCT is the company's cash cow and the bulk of their sales and they don't want to do anything to risk that. When K-Czennies boycotted Superhuman, it was impactful - and the group wasn't nearly as popular then.

this forum is so tiresome. I always have to explain my opinion to ppl, that dont get the point of my message . I`m not here to have arguments with u guys. believe whatever u want, I have my own standpoint on certain things. accept it, dont get at me like. you dont do that with other ppl here. or at least not to that extent. I guess because we arent 'friends' on here or whatever. I`m tired of always explaining myself. if u have questions you are free to ask, but I have better things to do in life than always explain myself to other ppl. If you're putting out your opinion on something that's fine but you shouldn't expect that you live in some sort of vacuum and that no one will ever disagree with you and explain their opinion or side. If it ends up bothering you, could can very easily not answer or say you don't want to discuss it further. For me personally if I see something that I have a different opinion on and consider a bad take I'll respond more often than not, no matter who it is. I don't have some random desire to go after you specifically, why would I? If anything I'd be less likely to respond to opinions I disagree with if I hated you or whatever because that would be more likely to end extremely poorly.
