I have headaches pretty often. Not every week, but every month 3-4 times. These headaches sometimes last even after medication or even after i sleep. Are these normal or smth to be concerned about ? I tend to be sensitive to stress, loud music and weather changes as well, so that might be a factor.

Question, how much water do you drink in a day? I used to have frequent migraines, they all but stopped when I started making a point to drink more water, less sugary beverages, and get up and move around more (angle of your neck can pinch nerves) so those are my suggestions.

i was also going to say it could be dehydration/drinking more sugary drinks than clear water, i get really horrible headaches sometimes that my doctor and i are suspecting stem from me getting so absorbed in work that i forget to drink enough

consuming lots of caffeine can cause headaches too because it narrows blood vessels in your brain. ofc its best to see a doctor if the headaches are severe and chronic, but it couldn't hurt avoiding triggers and drinking more water to see if the headaches persist

personally i drink tea or lemon water in the morning, but if coffee is the only thing that wakes you up i think one or two cups a day couldnt hurt as long as you drink enough water throughout the day..? im pretty sure my migraine/headache meds contain some caffeine so its not all bad but im not a professional so take my words with a grain of salt :hmmm:

Headaches could be a sign of magnesium deficiency or/and dehydration.

Coffee has a dehydrating effect on the body. So you'll get even more dehydrated when you drink too much coffee.

To be fair, you don't have to switch this up too much as long as you drink water alongside the coffee & tea. I'm stubborn and refuse to give up my coffee even though it tanks my blood sugar about an hour later. :lisalaugh:
If you're like me and don't really enjoy plain water, there's this magical thing:

It very well could have to do with dehydration like others suggested, though it could be other things too. If they seem overly worrisome it might not hurt to go to the doctor, even if it ends up being nothing major you can have that peace of mind that it's probably something minor. But if they're just regular headaches that seem to happen often it's reasonable to try increasing your water intake first before going just so you can rule that out since it's simple enough to do and shouldn't be detrimental 99% of the time. I would also say that if you're not drinking an overabundance of caffeine from tea and coffee there's probably nothing wrong with having some each day for the average person, just not too much because like others said it can dehydrate you. And you can also kind of check yourself if there's a possibility of being overly dehydrated by looking at your pee (kind of weird to be analyzing it but it can show you if you're overly dehydrated by the shade). Here's a chart I randomly found that you can look at to get an idea of how hydrated or not you might be. You don't have to share with us ofc, just for personal use and knowledge :haylul:

I have headaches and migraine too.

there could be different reasons:
- weather change
- neck problems
- problems with your jaw / jaw joints
- stress
- didnt drink enough
- loud noises
- sometimes problems with your intestine could also influence it
you name it.

how to separate a headache from migraine:
- headache: more of a pressing pain (no pulsating)
- migraine: pulsating pain, could be on only one side of the head too - there might be other symptoms like bad eyesight, nausea etc

what can you do:
- find out if its a migraine or a 'simple' headache and act according to it
- if its more often, write a headache diary with all symptoms, time table, etc
- take painkillers before everything starts, if the pain is already at its highest it wont go away (it will get better, but it wont go away)
- headaches are easier to treat, so if its one, find out the reason and resolve it. sometimes drinking water and fresh air does the trick
- it is said that the cold helps with migraines and the warmth with headaches, but I never tried
- avoid sugar, its bad for the headache
- there are certain tea u can try (for headache)
- take the right painkiller. for example I have a pollen allergy so I cant take certain painkillers
- coffein could help with a headache
- if its getting worse (like in general, if its more often and more intensiv), go to a doctor

my own experience:
I already had 2 long phases (1st one was 3 weeks migraine and no painkillers helped / 2nd was 2 weeks headache and no painkillers helped also) of headaches and migraine. tbh I sat it out and was on sick leave. as the painkillers didnt work, I didnt take them after the 1st week because my intestines were going crazy. lol

I usually take painkillers the moment I feel a headache is coming. if you wait too long it could be too late.

for me, I already know the reasons for my pain.
since my jaw joint is damaged, I have migraines. I also feel weather changes because of it and since I have to wear a jaw splint, I also have problems with my neck muscles. and since a year (thxs to corona - I couldnt go to the gym and my muscles went downhill) I also have problems with blocked cervical vertebrae.
