Wish you all the best, hope u can get it treated well (ur jaw i mean).I have headaches and migraine too.
there could be different reasons:
- weather change
- neck problems
- problems with your jaw / jaw joints
- stress
- didnt drink enough
- loud noises
- sometimes problems with your intestine could also influence it
you name it.
how to separate a headache from migraine:
- headache: more of a pressing pain (no pulsating)
- migraine: pulsating pain, could be on only one side of the head too - there might be other symptoms like bad eyesight, nausea etc
what can you do:
- find out if its a migraine or a 'simple' headache and act according to it
- if its more often, write a headache diary with all symptoms, time table, etc
- take painkillers before everything starts, if the pain is already at its highest it wont go away (it will get better, but it wont go away)
- headaches are easier to treat, so if its one, find out the reason and resolve it. sometimes drinking water and fresh air does the trick
- it is said that the cold helps with migraines and the warmth with headaches, but I never tried
- avoid sugar, its bad for the headache
- there are certain tea u can try (for headache)
- take the right painkiller. for example I have a pollen allergy so I cant take certain painkillers
- coffein could help with a headache
- if its getting worse (like in general, if its more often and more intensiv), go to a doctor
my own experience:
I already had 2 long phases (1st one was 3 weeks migraine and no painkillers helped / 2nd was 2 weeks headache and no painkillers helped also) of headaches and migraine. tbh I sat it out and was on sick leave. as the painkillers didnt work, I didnt take them after the 1st week because my intestines were going crazy. lol
I usually take painkillers the moment I feel a headache is coming. if you wait too long it could be too late.
for me, I already know the reasons for my pain.
since my jaw joint is damaged, I have migraines. I also feel weather changes because of it and since I have to wear a jaw splint, I also have problems with my neck muscles. and since a year (thxs to corona - I couldnt go to the gym and my muscles went downhill) I also have problems with blocked cervical vertebrae.
This made me think that it really isnt a migraine since it's more pressing than pulsating. I feel my head heavier too. I didn't know i should take medicine before it gets worse, i usually took it if i couldn't bare it anymore. Yeah i seem to be sensitive to the weather. There have been rapid changes here in Romania. From 25 to 10 Celsius degrees in a matter of days. So yeah that might be it too
