I tend to fetishize Asians and I don't mean to, but it's become a bad habit. I recognize it's a problem that needs to get fixed, but I don't know how to fix it. I tend to think that most of them are all beautiful and look like K-pop idols. It also has gotten to the point where I find them more attractive than my own race. I know how bad it is to prefer someone over someone else just because of their looks. Any advice on how I can fix this problem?

Well Asia isn't a mystical place that people are just born better looking there and it all comes down to diet and skin care although the thing with South Korea is their beauty industry is way ahead of other places so getting to that level outside of it becomes a bigger challenge.

Of course there is also plastic surgery being under less scrutiny with getting your eyes and nose done being known as the Kpop combo because it's a very common thing for idols to have done and plastic surgery being a reward for good grades.

You should just focus on the fact that you're exposed to the ones who are dedicated enough to commit to that level and there's a lot more people in just South Korea alone that aren't going to look like that in the same vein that most people in other continents don't look like Instagram models despite what Instagram trains you to believe.

Maybe try remember that what you see in social media and entertainment is idealized image of asians and the reality isnt like it.

Go to YouTube, watch some videos of night walks through Asian cities (I love especially Japanese night walks) and you'll see how Asians really look like. But don't be disappointed: Many Asians are beautiful!



Cosmetic operations like double eye lid surgeries seem to be rather common in South Korea not only for idols. And maybe you think you see K-Pop idols in Seoul because they are K-Pop idols in some cases?

first of all, I personally think you should stop dividing ppl into races. we are all humans.
I also think the beauty standard kpop idols portrait has gotten to your brain so much, that everything else is not beautiful anymore.
you could say its the same for korean society as a whole tbh. I think you just have to tell yourself, that all humans can be beautiful no matter where they come from. tell yourself, every time you think only asian are beautiful. you can 'train' your own brain that way.
