I remember watching this waaay back when it came out
I legit knew like 5 artists... and i knew The Quiett cause of a chart of the best rappers lol

Now it's really cool to see all these artists i love and how different their styles are and they all still represent rap and hiphop and how it all should be
I really don't see any reason any of these companies for example should have beef with each other when all they are doing is producing good music
And I think these artist especially see that, they might hit on each other individually cause someone doesn't like anothers style but even that ends up making good music
I just wish they had a bit of a wider view of kpop rappers too, like they do respect some but they hate on others, some really are terrible that's true but like... those really aren't rappers anyway they are just guys or girls that didn't have a better role so they got that... And most of them don't even claim any superiority
So i hope to see more welcomed idols like Zico,Bobby,Mino and even RM, they were all at one point underground too

I love this song :maheart:

and I honestly get why most idol rappers are "hated" on by KHH aritsts. If you see it from their point it is understandble. Some companies do just appoint the rapper role to anyone, some idol rappers just don't have the passion for rap like a real rapper has. Of course there are idols that used to be underground and I think that those do deserve respect. I am just glad that people like Zico are proving their worth as an idol and rapper ( tough Block B never really felt like Idols - at least not traditionally)

I like that all those rappers are able to be on one song together. They collaborate with each other all the time and seem like a pretty close-knit community.

Zico is pretty much accepted; he has connections and friends within the community. Some people initially dissed him but have grown to respect him, since over the years he really proved himself as a rapper and producer. Mino and Bobby are kind of there thanks to SMTM. I don't think KHH artists actually hate idol rappers but they don't have the same respect for them.

To be fair, I see why. For most idol rappers, rap isn't their passion, and their existence makes it seem like Korea thinks rap is a joke. Meanwhile there are plenty of talented non-idol artists. For every underground-rapper supremacist, there's a dozen more idol-rapper supremacists who shit on underground rappers because idiot B-Free dissed BTS 3948 years ago.

BewhY admitted he had a bias toward idols but it changed when he worked with Taemin and realized the guy was a talented dancer and willing to write lyrics for their collaboration. I think Simon Dominic said something similar at one point.

I get where both of you are coming from but it seems to me like the giant generalization thing where you have a load of crappy "rappers" and a few good ones that actually rap well and want to rap but they are all put together. Rappers like Jooheon, Feeldog, Zelo, Yongukk, maybe even Mingi and Hongjoong all have that something that to me at least seems like a need to rap well and show off actual good rapping.

But yea you're also right that there are idol-rapper supremacists those as as shitty as these ones. And yea obviously SMTM is the place to prove yourself and soon the AOMG show too. Hopefully more of it becomes mainstream, we all saw how big SMTM got hopefully Jay can pull of a similar thing to P101 or something

Also, due to BTS's newfound popularity and emphasis on "self-composed rappers," many groups are following the model and putting rappers in their groups. This makes idol rappers seem really gimmicky and commercialized.

So the struggle is, you either have really awful idol "rappers" or you have these seemingly tryhard idol rappers that are just rapping for kicks. I guess statistically it's easier to say idol rappers are crappy because so few of them are good. I don't agree with the generalization but I can understand why, you know? Anyway it's not really fair to Jooheon, Yongguk, etc.

The AOMG one is competing to join AOMG, so I don't know if idols will participate in the show. I hope they sign a good artist and maybe sign Punchnello permanently too.
