I lowkey want to try this (2 Viewers)

I'm using an old laptop we have instead of the broken one, and imo its super sensitive. I click like normal and it double clicks half the time. I went to the trackpad settings and set it to the lowest sensitivity but it still does that. Which makes me curious what the top setting is like. Does it double click when you breathe in the general proximity? Maybe double clicks when you glance at the screen? I kind of want to try it but switching it back might be a nightmare if it's crazy sensitive and I don't want that

I actually had a bluetooth computer mouse that did this. It was awful for when I would try and play The Sims or Minecraft, as my left clicks would either double click and skip the interactions or if I tried to right click and rotate TS4 camera it just wouldn't do it. I had to get a new mouse to solve the issue.
Also are you a demon? Why are you using a trackpad? Joking ofc but I cannot stand to use those

Get a cheap mouse (either usb or bluetooth) and use it to switch back if it doesn’t work.

or just use the mouse instead ig lol

it’s understandable if you don’t want to get one and brute force ur way through too

I have a habit of losing any mouse I use so I usually use trackpad
