I just stumbled across my brothers passport, which has a visa in it for Russia and the colors and design and stuff is weirdly pretty. I think I needed a visa once but it was online so I didn’t see any version of it idt. So this is my first time seeing what it looks like. I’d share a photo but privacy, don’t want to leak my brothers private info

It's pretty images and color to make forgery more difficult... which is kind of a joke with today's technology.

never saw one irl, i just need an id to travel, being an eu citizen (or a passport for the godforsaken uk), did not travel outside yet (@Hakunama_Tata im looking at you)

You'll definitely need a passport at minimum if you decide to go a bit further I wouldn't need a passport to go within the US or I think even Canada maybe, but as interesting as those two are I like visiting other countries. The chance of me needing a visa though is low enough, for general travel a US passport is enough without needing visas for quite a few places, mostly within Europe.

Also random but what's stopping you, as an EU citizen, from visiting a Schengen country that's not in the EU without a passport, if you take off from a country thats part of both the EU and Schengen areas Wait assuming you arent part of the Schengen area, in that circumstance

Okay lets say someone from Romania wants to visit Iceland. Normally there's no passport free connection because Romania isn't a Schengen country and Iceland isn't an EU country right? But couldn't they fly to Germany, which is an EU and Schengen country passport free because of the EU thing, and then from there fly to Iceland because Germany and Iceland are both Schengen countries, and get to Iceland that way despite Iceland not being an EU country and them being from a non Schengen country?

Not fully because I traveled from Germany to Iceland a week ago and according to this the airline should have checked our passports, which they never did We got checked in Iceland on the way out, but that's because we were traveling outside the area, from my understanding people with Iceland as their final destination and people with further flights to Schengen regions went to a separate place/section, same for when we arrived in Iceland on the way to Germany. Our landing terminal seemed to be only non Schengen countries, one inside we had no more checks/no customs/ect.

I didn’t need to apply for a visa like this, nor for Korea, nor for Thailand. Hungarians don’t need visa to enter these countries, if you stay for like 1-2 months. I stayed like 1-2 weeks in both countries. S. Korea didn’t even give us a stamp into our passport, just a piece of paper that we entered the country. I think I lost it, so I only have the stamp from Thailand.

I'd be checking that I had the paper every 5 seconds in that case Passports can be lost too for exit reasons, but I think a paper is easier to lose than a passport if you're not paying enough attention, you could drop it or grab it and throw it out on accident with another paper.

Yeah, my friend was in a stress for a day cuz she thought she lost it. And as a good friend as I am, I said “then, you stay here and I’m going home alone”. Ofc, she found it in the hotel room.
