How incompetent the United States' postage system is

The post office ended up delivering a certified letter to a completely different address in a different city rather than where I live. I learned about this by checking the tracking number that I was given by the company who sends my bus passes.

What gave it away? It when I realized the letter with my bus passes was at a completely different regional mail facility after leaving the usual region mail facility, I called the main post office number and they told me about where the letter was going to was to completely different address and city.

Apparently there is nothing that they can do because they have to send the mail to the address that is on the envelope. I felt suspicious about this because the company that sends my bus passes has a front page letter that shows my name and address and that is what they have on the system. Also the company who sent the bus passes also suck because you can't talk to a supervisor and the people who we called kept on telling us to call a different number and go that department.

We also took trips to the local post office and see if there is anything we can. Of course they said there was nothing that can do. On the Saturday trip to the post office, we told them the full details of what and I told where that location of where the letter was being sent (I looked up the address and told them that the letter is going to a butcher shop in that city). The person also sent an email to the the post office in the other to keep an eye out on the letter and told try to call that post office on Monday since it is likely going to be there.

Today's Monday and the post office that is close to the different address does not pick up the phone and they hang up at 2 minute mark.

In the end, this not acceptable in any form.​

Yes that sounds about right. I want to get this problem solved and nobody is able to help. Now I am trying email the company who gave me the the tracking number with the same story.

So true, Now I am trying to find a way to contact the post office again without trying to call the local post office near the address the letter was sent (I tried calling that number for the past hour and it gets cut off at the 2-minute mark without talking to a representative).

Yep. Instead of wasting another hour, I called the 1-800 post office number. I was able to talk to a representative and they added an expedited priority for my case and they put my correct address on the note. So I am expected to get a call tomorrow.
