Or is this just a me thing? I have a specific fork that I will use for every meal. Nobody else uses the fork. I have no problem using a different fork if I’m at a restaurant or at someone else’s house, but at my house, I will only use that one fork.

LOL, we have like 10 different styles of forks in our drawer. Also, they are dinged up with bent tines.

It looks different from all the others, probably why I like it so much. And I start the dishwasher after dinner so its empty by the time I go to eat again in the morning so I never run into that issue.

If there are different types of fork, I usually have one that I prefere most between those, but its only the type, so if there 5 forks of that one type, I would use all of them
