I randomly googled something and found an article that seemed wtf enough to check out. And it was more wtf than I could have expected.

Quick summary: Librarians who aren't actively supporting and advocating for a political party suck because some politicians will cut funding for libraries, causing them to lay off staff, be limited materials wise, or straight up just shut down. Instead, librarians should become politically active and support whatever political party likes libraries and won't cut their budget.

Now I'm not super politically savvy. I do think I know enough to say this though. I don't think there's a political party that loves libraries and a political party that hates libraries. I think libraries are pretty doomed and will die a slow death likely no matter what party you pick. Also, voting for a party exclusively because you like or depend on one of their policies is stupid. If modern day Hitler appeared and had all the same discrimination against others, but would fund libraries well, should librarians be on his side? No. That would be absurd. Sure not all modern day politicians are quite Hitler's level, that was an extreme to show the point, but they do often have some questionable ideas. And one should definitely not worship a party because you agree strongly with one thing they say. At least imo. I've seen too many people cite a single reason for why they want a certain president or want a certain party to win, and oftentimes it's a very questionable idea at that.

Apparently. Are you a farmer and think that one party likes farms more? Support them! Are you working in tech and think one party is more focused on tech? Support them! Oh wait, does the party support racist, and LGBT, or other things that may be important to you? Too bad, you must support them with all your heart anyways. Because logic
