If you make bead bracelets please help me (1 Viewer)

A common problem that I have with them is that my wrists are very small in relation to my fist. When I tie them tight to myself and then go and take them off, I always run into the problem where it stretches the bracelet A LOT.

Here's the recent one I made with that problem:

The current knot has been triple-knotted and I'm gorilla gluing it as well.
I am very uncomfortable with how stretched the bracelet becomes in order to get it off my wrist. Can someone steer me in the right direction?

My guess is that the solution is to add more beads... so I'm going to make a second one and try that hypothesis out now.

Those aren’t bad. As long as they have some give to them. Also this may seem weird but a shoelace could work worst case scenario

If the issue you’re having is the size difference between your wrist and fist then I think the best option would be to make the elastic longer and add more beads. If you want them to be snug against your wrist it wouldn’t work as well but if you’re okay with them being slightly looser with the upside of having them less stretched that’s what I would do. Even a little unstretched elastic can go a long way when it comes to distance it can stretch in total, since it stretches much more than the length of the unstretched portion ofc

Thank you for being so helpful and detailed I'm lucky enough to have some other bead bracelets that I got as freebies when I went to SVT Con and those are snug to both my wrist and easy to slip on/off despite being larger and I think it's because more beads also make it so that the bracelet is not completely flush to my wrist but rather comfortably sitting on top of it (no squeezing or falling lower). I'll keep you guys updated on how this experiment goes with more beads

I'm really unfamiliar with the bracelets that are adjustable like slipknot type but I have an anklet that's like that and I really really love it. I guess I need to look more into those because that one is so comfortable to me

I got one as a gift and it’s pretty good quality wise. It was in morse code, well the beads were. I wear it a lot and the only thing I would have to say is be careful when adjusting them cause they could come loose, just don’t be reckless like me lol

If you keep the elastic the same and only change the number of beads, the difference will just be that it’s more stretched at its default state because the beads stretch it. So that’ll just be the same issue, since the lentgth of the elastic is what really matters. It might just be harder to see the stretch because beads will block it

If you extend the length of the elastic then yeah that would work. You don’t technically need a longer elastic for more beads, you can stretch it as you put the beads on which is what I thought you meant. It is harder and wouldn’t solve your problem, but if you meant keep it unstretched as you put the beads on the elastic would be longer yeah.

I think that would help me a lot especially because when it comes to tying I rely on one of my family members to do it but I'll have to look into it more next time I'm in a craft store I'll make sure to tag you with the ones I've made since making the thread, thanks for your kind words
