Sensitive New 'Trend' among Shawols - what do you think? (1 Viewer)

So, there is this new 'trend' one shawol started on Youtube.
That person has been putting Jonghyuns Al voice into SHINee songs and uploaded them.

There have been several reactions to it.
Some feel grateful, some complemented their work, but among the positive reaction
there were also ppl saying it is disrespectful or even harmful to fans, as some still have not gotten over his death.

What do you think?

idk i find it rather disrespectful? for context: in the grand scheme of things yes i am a babywol, i became a fan long after jonghyun's passing (hence some may disagree with me). that fact in no way has stopped me from being a huge fan of him, his works and his artistry. much as i wish that he were still here with us, making music. and being with his members and his fans, the fact is that he isn't here with us anymore. this person is just. someone on the internet. they have not received express permission from jonghyun's family to do anything like this. i think they should ideally just let jonghyun rest as he should - in peace.

yeah. to be honest its a bit spooky too, but I think its okay ONLY if his family is okay with it.

yeah me too. if his family is okay with it then i don't have a problem. it's just that people are going ahead with this without any such permission or anything.

that said i'm not a fan of ai "covers" using idols who are alive either... sometimes i do wish for my faves to cover each other, hell i even make up line distributions for those imaginary covers. but idk using ai to specifically imitate their voices feels kinda weird.

but people may disagree of course.

It’s a touchy subject for obvious reasons so I think many people will have different views about it. I don’t feel strongly one way or another. But if someone doesn’t like it surely they can ignore it in most cases. Barring blatantly messed up stuff I don’t know that it’s fair to say “I don’t like it because I have a different view/feeling than you so therefore no one’s allowed to take part/create anything like that”. After all, where do we draw the line? I’m sure there’s people who get sad from seeing an image of him or his name or music. Do we get rid of anything to do with him then so those people wouldn’t feel that way and completely forget him? It’s not the same as this situation exactly. But to me this can make people experience negative emotions sure, but people can also get comfort out of it to. It’s not an obviously one sided thing that should clearly be avoided imo.
