It’s being discussed a lot, even on Reddit. People are saying there’s a huge discrepancy between albums sold for this comeback and literally everything else, from streaming, non-ad YT views, event tickets sold, engagement, low album sales in Japan and China, etc. They are doing mid or nugu level numbers in all those things. But will sell a million albums in less than a week.

There are 3 possible reasons:

1. It’s not fans but “sponsors” who are buying these albums.

2. Fans are buying these albums but they refuse to stream or watch their MV for some reason. Basically sabotaging their own bias and giving them such low digital numbers in YT, MelOn, Spotify, etc.

3. Plain old sajaegi. Using another company to arrange the bulk buying of albums to inflate sale numbers.

I find these accusations very funny. I'm not gonna talk about non-ad views, cause i didn't find info about that. I have to say even netizens disagreed with these things online, saying that JYP is a listed company and doing sajaegi would be detrimental for them.
Another thing, idk about you or any other person on this site, but i feel like ppl who go on and talk about korean charts kinda baffle me , cause aren't we mostly outside from Korea? Like this is an international site right? Why is it so incredible that international fans can buy their album too, but they dont stream on korean charts, cause u need a korean phone number on certain music charts, making it difficult for ppl outside korea to stream on korean charts. Even so, Nmixx is doing quite good compared, 25th on bugs rn, and 99th on flo.
Also they have 4.4 million listeners on spotify, don't tell me these 4 million ppl can't watch the MV like 10 times in the last 4 days ? if they are fans ? Cause if they did that would app to their now 45 million views. Also their debut album sold 490 k , their comeback 590 k, so why is it surprising that they are growing?
btw cute lil dancing badge u got there :)

The “listed companies can’t do sajaegi” excuse is just a meme fans spread around. The reality is kpop companies have gotten away with a lot because their success benefits the Korean economy and the government will look the other way. SM andYG had bigger scandals than sajaegi and nothing happened to the company itself. At most just a slap on the wrist.

First, educate yourself about Occam's Razor

Second, stay as far away from NMIXX as possible. That will do the whole world a favor.
Occam’s Razor doesn’t mean ignoring the data. And based on the data, a lot of people (neutral people, not even haters) are saying there’s a big discrepancy in sales performance and compared to all other groups NMIXX is the only one with such a big difference between album sales and all other metrics.

I know y’all trying to downplay but sooner or later something will come up. Especially if this pattern continues next comeback.

You seem to have ignored my second point. Please re-read it.

Except they're not outselling either. Both Twice and ITZY already sold over 1 million.
Ok but like someone mentioned it's not unusal to sell more with each comeback so that means they will eventually. Which will make no sense considering Twice was nation girl group and only fans of big companies know who Nmixx is.

Some groups do better in certain areas than others and that's been a constant like Red Velvets MV views are behind the level of their album sales because SM fans don't lend themselves to that type of fan.

Chances are Nmixx just picked up a lot of the bulk buying fans who buy a ton of albums wanting to see them succeed which given they are one of Twices sister groups would make sense that they've picked up some of their fans who are going to go as far as they can with supporting them.

Overall Nmixxs digitals are consistently weak and their album sales have been consistently pretty strong so if anything this just seems like the type of group they are and faking album sales would be pointless in my mind because they need digital success if JYP was to do anything for them.

JYP used a lot of YouTube ads, more than half of their views are from ads for their latest MV

Anyway, there’s no answer to why those fans who bulk buy albums aren’t helping NMIXX with the digitals

So? If the fandom isn't streaming then the views won't be impressive regardless.

Just because you don't know the answer doesn't mean there is no answer and instead just means that you lack knowledge on the industry as buying an album is easy for an international fan where as streaming on Melon is harder as Korean websites tend to ask for a Korean phone number that you need to know how to spoof making it a hassle to sign up.

So no you can't just look at them having good album sales and think they should have good digitals because there is a higher bar of entry between the two.

Same trend is happening in international streaming services like Spotify and iTunes, just low low low relative to what their album sales numbers indicate. It’s like NMIXX has a lot of fans who buy albums, but those fans don’t like NMIXX music and barely stream it? Or something else

NMIXX just debut and are doing well compared to some other groups, beside I don't know where this obsession is stemming from. If you have a problem with NMIXX their sales buy an album and support them yourself. I don't see how bringing them down can make you gain satisfaction. NMIXX also just finished American promotion and a tour. If JYP saw NMIXX as unsalvable they'd be treated like CLC was. (CLC deserved so much better but that's a different story)

Btw what pride flag is that?
