I had a consultation for my wisdom teeth and they said they do extraction surgery under IV sedation. I didn’t think to question why then, but now I feel like I kind of have to ask and see if they’ll do the typical local anesthesia instead, but I don’t want to call or seem argumentative Why can’t life be easier

I was sedated when my teeth needed ripping out.

I forget how much extra it costed for me to have it done with iv sedation, but it’s definitely more than the other option. But, depending on how well you do with dentist appointments in general I think it’s something that can be helpful for anyone who has major anxiety with the dentist.
If you do end up making the call, try to write your “points” down, don’t forget to breathe and maybe have someone sit next to you as support. You got this.

Yes and the point offer will run out quickly because we’re experiencing a shortage, but we’ll throw in 50 extra points for making two calls in an hour

If it's just 1 tooth then local anesthesia would work.

But if you're going for 3 or 4 then I suggest going for IV sedation (which is safer than general anesthesia). I had 3 wisdom teeth taken out with local anesthesia and that felt like it took a loooong time. I've heard that with IV sedation you feel like you go to sleep and then just wake up.

I keep getting told that everyone else did it with local and were like yeah nah you definitely don’t need it Ive heard the same about iv too, that you’re semi awake or asleep and you remember nothing from it. I mostly like the idea of iv because less needles tbh, needles do scare me
