What are some things you can't stand about having a period (other than cramps and o.o uncontrollably bleeding out of a hole).
Something I grew up with was shame. This seems so stupid because periods are a natural biological thing.
I grew up practicing two religions. One particular religion, I was heavily surrounded by because my dad's extended family lived with us and they were heavily religious.
I literally went to Sunday Temple School >.> hated it...that's a rant on its own.
But what I hated the most was how women were made to feel on their period. We are considered dirty. We cannot touch anything that's used for prayers or any religious ceremony. If I touched anyone while on my period, they would have to shower if they wanted to perform a prayer.
The first time I got my period, I didnt know any of this and I went to Sunday school as I was told and I told my friend that I got my period.
She then told an auntie who put me in a secluded room and I had to stay there the whole day until my fam were ready to leave.
So growing up, I basically associated being on my period as it being a week of shame on top of the cramps.
I grew up and learned it's not shameful. But subconsciously, I stay away from any religious shit whenever I'm on my period.
