The YouTube channel for Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block began streaming a second promotional video on Friday for the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato (Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri: Unato Kessen) sequel anime film.

The film will open in Japan on May 10 and will screen for a two-week limited engagement. The anime will also stream on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video simultaneously with the theatrical release.

Shinichiro Miki joins the film's cast as new character Kageyuki.

Tetsuro Araki is returning to direct the film at Wit Studio, and is also the film's scriptwriter. Code Geass creator Ichiro Okouchi, who wrote the TV series' scripts, is credited with organization. Haruhiko Mikimoto(Macross 7, Gunbuster) is credited with the original character design, and Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Aldnoah.Zero) is returning to compose the music. Shochiku Media Division is distributing the film. EGOIST will perform the theme song "Sakase ya Sakase." The film will also feature a returning cast.

The film will focus on the character Mumei. The film will take place half a year after the story of the original television anime series. The official website for the anime lists the film as the "middle volume."

The original Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress television anime aired from April-July 2016. The series streamed on Amazon Prime Video with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. The series has also received two compilation films that premiered in December 2016 and January 2017 in Japan. The two films covered the anime's first season with some new and enhanced scenes. Crunchyrollscreened the films in North American theaters in April 2017.

The "steampunk survival action" story takes place on the island country Hinomoto, where humans hide themselves in fortresses called stations against the threat of zombie-like beings with steel hearts known as "Kabane." Only armored locomotives known as "Hayajiro" go between the stations.

This was that anime from 2016 everyone liked, right? I never actually watched it. Is it any good?
I haven't seen it yet. I have so many pending stuff to watch that I can barely keep up with seasonal anime :yolk: I just posted this here since it was pretty popular and people might be interested.

I should probably get around and watch the tv series ^^
Same :yolk:

I'm still trying to watch sequels of anime I've already watched instead of getting into new stuff so I haven't seen much of the new anime released for the past few years and MAL is fucking down right now so I can't update my list :yolk:

I noticed that with MAL just now god dammit :pandamad:

I have been trying to do MAL's anime watching challenge, I thought of doing it last year but didn't since it looked difficult to get (it is), so I'm finally doing it now and end up watching lot of random stuff I wouldn't else-wise, but just because there isn't any anime I want to watch starting with letter L or sth like that xd (which is why I'm now stuck watching Lovely Complex which has turned out to be alright anime, but nothing special).
