What comeback in 2023 has disappointed you? You don't have to dislike it, but you were hoping for more. For me, I pick "Slay" by Everglow. Don't get me wrong, I love Everglow but I just was expecting a lot more from their comeback. The chorus was a bit too repetitive for my liking along with some other factors. I loved the outfits and the MV itself though, I'm just not the biggest fan of the song.

Everglow, Slay is the same concept as Pirate... there was nothing creative or new. Except Yiren's pink hair. God she's cute in pink hair.

I didn't read all of your post until after I made my own. Glad to know I'm not alone in my feelings for Slay.

I was expecting PIXY's title track, Karma, to be an ORIGINAL song--- Not simply a remixed version of Hide & Seek and Flip A Coin.
I was and still am disappointed about it.
Now I'm worried about their future comeback titles.

the fact that we only got a single album from Everglow after a TWO-YEAR wait instead of at least an EP or mini. DGMW the songs on that single album are all bops... I just wish there were more.

It's great to have Everglow back, but 'Slay' sounds like a production quickshot. I could imagine a meeting between Yuehua's CEO and the production team:

CEO: "Ok, we should finally take care of Everglow's comeback. Their fandom still wants it after nearly two years, but no one here really thought about producing something new for them. Any ideas?"
Producers: "No problem, we take some melodic phrases from their old songs and put them together. That's a safe bet, you'll have their comeback in four weeks and the fans will be satisfied."

Same here, Everglow - Slay. I love the song but I have to mention how underwhelming it felt listening to it for the first time. It doesn't sound like a song that came out in 2023 to me. The production is giving nugu (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Oh and CRAZY SEXY COOL

Hard by shinee is a hard no. I think my expectations were pushed because Key's Killer and Onew's Circle have been on repeat for majority of the year. The album itself is great but not Atlantis/Don't Call Me. To think Taemin picked the single ;-;

2023 has been the most boring year for me since I first started listening to kpop.

Finally got some music from an artist that I like, AKMU. But, even then, it's not my favourite AKMU release. I am hoping for something from IU, Taeyeon and RV before the end of the year. Otherwise, 2023 is a burst for me.
