When grocery shopping I wanted to buy a type of pepper for a dish. They always have them. Except when I need them apparently Never mind that they had the other 4 variations of peppers I wanted. Let’s just focus on the one they didn’t have. Outrageous

Like a specific flavor/brand? Because yogurt in general is much more often seen at American stores at least than poblano peppers (the ones I wanted)

My grocery store sucks too in that regard. That's the reason why I order often used spices online in bigger packages. The' shopping highlight' so far was no salt. Not the type of salt Zen monks collect during the first full moon of spring barfeet between 1 am and 2 am while recitating Koans. Just ordinary salt.

How? It really doesn’t get any more basic than salt when it comes to grocery shopping. Were they just out of stock that one time of was this more than a one time thing?

Three times no salt. Two times there was just one brand of toilet paper (that was long before COVID). The problem is that they reorder in too small quantities. Then it seems they notice: "What happened? How dare all those customers buying our stuff? Why do they need toilet paper? They should just look at it because all those tiny flowers on them are quite nice. Buying toilet paper ... that is unacceptable!"


Then they reorder in too small quantities again. Then some people seem to complain and someone from the executive floor exchanges the store manager. The old store manager terrorizes another supermarket branch and we get a new store manager. That works fine for about four weeks. Then the crap starts again.

Oh no, that sounds rough. The basic stuff we usually have, when I leave the store without something it’s either a less common food (taro, poblano peppers) or it’s lamb and I wanted some but it’s not on sale so too much. That’s the majority of times. Other things do sometimes go out of stock for a day and practically never again (unless you shop too close to closing too often) but it’s not actually that common. But ofc if I get inconvenienced I must make a KS thread so that’s how this one happened Im hoping the poblano peppers is a one time thing and not them deciding to stop carrying them (like taro seems to have) but we’ll see next time I go if they’ve returned or not.
