skippable portion, think of it as the making of portion of the episode before the actual performance

the stage is dark, with only the only light visible being a warm blue spotlight pointed to the entrance of the thin runway to the stage
under the piercing silence yulan comes out, spotlight moving to point towards the edge of the runway
yulan dances as she moves towards the spot the spotlight is shining upon, with sand illuminated blue falling from above
a choreography follows, with yulan ending it with a simple bow still on the runway; all lights go out
(it's silent until she reaches the 2:37 mark in the embedded video, when the music starts playing)
(eunha's playing the piano part live on the opposite runway, a very faint light shining on her like a ghostly figure )
when the lights are back on, the members are standing in position, eunha dead center and yulan in front, unmoving
there's a thin layer of water that ripples with any movement and noise on the stage
eunha's the one this time behind the synths as yulan stands out in front
eunha starts by playing a distorted sample of the original you better know's opening as yulan puts the mic to her mouth and begins to rap
❝ silently into the ocean I dive
water all dark, not a person in sight ❞
(same melody and all as linked song, but with adjusted lyrics and different sampled and interpolated sections (intro, adlibs, chorus, outro) throughout)
this continues until the chorus, where yulan looks sharply back to eunha
yulan finally starts moving around the stage, dancing and hyping up the crowd around as eunha goes ham

(know-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, you better know-oh oh-oh, oh-oh)
there's a whole world wait'n for you ❞
although yulan does sing her lines in between during the chorus, she eventually starts pointing her mic to the crowd for them to sing it back
during the second refrain of the chorus, a light drizzle starts falling on the circumference of the stage as yulan continues splashing across the stage
they sustain this energy throughout the song until a silence finally settles, eunha starts backing her setup back onto her runway
yulan proceeds with a contemporary floor choreography as eunha continues the musical performance, singing and playing the keyboard
eunha's whispered question of
❝ are you ready to enter? ❞
(but like more ryoji ikeda-fied electronic influences to match the actual song iykyk)
lingers in the air as the lights go out

☼: (holding the camera as she's running in the hallways backstage) OK it's Eunha and Yulan here, and we're headed right now to temporarily take over the staff resting area to do a first listen. (turns towards Yulan, off camera) Which way? Left then? Straight ahead? OK... ...OK and we're here.
☾: (lying on the floor in a stretch) I think I actually might like the song they performed for the first stage best.
☼: (flipping through her pages and pages of notes and markings) What about TheTheThe? That was cute, it has good remake potential. Add a grittier base line for the chorus, shift the general balance to be more top-heavy in the synths-
☾: That won't work. Last stage our mix came out too muddy. Unless they tuned the speakers for hyperpop, the bass line will be too sluggish and messy for the live audience.

☼: (whispering) So we've settled on You Better Know still, so I'm working on my changes while Yulan works on hers. I finished recording some additional vocal parts to use, I think they were pretty decent, and I'll call it a day after I wrap up this last verse. We had a short chat with Neptune's Ocean for their thoughts a few hours ago, and I've been able to fill in most of those placeholder lyrics since then. Really interesting, getting a better sense of what they do and how. We're going to try to keep the theme the same but it's going to sound very different. But yeah, about our general songwriting process, it depends really. Sometimes more of my ideas make it in, sometimes it's hers, but we do try and keep a fair verse-by-verse elimination system for everything we do.

☼: I think we're happy with the skeleton of our remake?
☾: It's solid- stage crew just texted back about the stage, I'll go chat with them.

☼: Just making final edits now as Yulan starts talking with the stage crew to plan the other stuff now that the stage itself has been finalized. She's for some incomprehensible reason super excited about the raised 360° circular platform stage. Don't get it a bit, I guess it's a choreographer thing. I'm just confused how it'll work out logistically. If the stage crew can't do the stage changes fast enough, that means bored audience members that'll only just hurt our points even more, especially if we get put towards the back. Andddd, I'm rambling. Hopefully she figures something out.

What I have in mind right now is admittedly ambitious but it's not every day you get unlimited budget. We're not used to these type of venues for our music but if we can't perform like it's a festival on the stage, we will bring the festival to the stage.
