It doesn't reset per say, it just remove posts slowly every hour to match the daily overall, but will still count the incoming post.

I think the main reason is cause i switched php handlers for our site and now its on super speed mode.

Highly doubt that's the main reason
It's probably because it's the weekend and everyone is lazy and bored
