New Shin Chuka Ichiban (Cooking Master Boy) is produced by Production I.G and NAS.




The Chūka Ichiban! manga inspired a 52-episode television anime in 1997-1998.



God I love this show so much when I was little. I didn't finish the series but I might pick it up again before watching the new one and it's being done by Production I.G. omg. They're gonna give it justice

shame i never heart of "Cooking Master Boy" is it similar to "shokugeki no soma" ??

Oh i haven't heard about it before. I only know Shokugeki no soma for food related animes, and that's one of kind sure xd

I hope they do well with remake, those don't always work out but there has been quite nice roll with remakes lately with Dororo and Fruits Basket

Kinda? I mean they're both cooking anime with a lot of exaggerations lol but that's the beauty of it

I don't watch food anime either. I feel like I'll get bored to death but there are some exceptions like Shokugeki no Soma and Cooking Master Boy probably because they're so exaggerated that something as mundane as cooking becomes entertaining.

I'm pretty excited for Fruits Basket as well. I hope they stay faithful to the manga. If I remember correctly, the author didn't like how the anime turned out lol.

Fruits Basket has been good so far. Well i didn't care about last ep as much but it's kinda cause I have never liked Kagura that much and now I understand why- shes' pretty much yandare and I can't stand yandere like characters xd But thats just me not liking one of support character so not big deal, can't wait until they introduce Haru though :d

I will probably have to check out this remake cooking anime though. The style looks interesting, it's bit classic but not your regular art style still : )

The art style is indeed reminiscent of classic old anime especially the lighting on the hair. I'm glad the studio kept it the way it is and refined it to fit today's standards.

Huh there really is that many around. Well I guess you could say Working!! is cooking anime too, though it's not as much about cooking and just slice of life with comedy about running restaurant and I think servers are the main characters xd

Yes it looks like they kept art style, but updated it which is right way to do it ^^

Ben-To is just a weird anime where they literally fist fight for food lol. Nonsensical plot but pretty entertaining.

Yeah Working is just SoL but with a restaurant as the setting.
