There was a town in West Virginia that during the Cold War didn’t have a proper road leading to it, after the collapse of the bridge they used before. After a couple years, the town was still unable to convince the government in the US to build a bridge, so they asked the USSR for help. The USSR sent journalists to look at the scope of the problem, but the West Virginia government has quickly changed their minds and promised funds to build the bridge when they learned to the Soviet help bit, because it ofc received lots of attention.

I never knew that either, I'm glad I do now! Any articles I can read about it?

I can link a couple, but I haven’t read a ton of articles about this, just a few. I have also noticed there’s variations among some facts, some day the Russian officials sent the journalist and some say they didn’t and she heard about it in her own, for example. I considered trying to find an article from a Russia perspective but that’s not easy to find.

People that think they are dumb can't be dumb. Intelligence is the requirement for self-criticism, even when the
conclusions are wrong. Like John Cleese said: "You'd have to be relative intelligent to realize how stupid you are."

See, your conclusion is wrong - you aren't dumb. I read a few of your posts and I'd say that you're quite the opposite. Unfortunately I met a few very dumb people over the course of my life and all of them thought that they are especially cool and smart.

You can put yourself down but you can't lower your intelligence. Live with it.
