I was 8 years old when DNCEs “Cake by the ocean” came out and my mom played it all the time but would never let us watch the video, and my kid brain literally thought it was about eating cake by the ocean, as in real cake… but I was soooooo wrong It wasn’t until 2019 that I learned the real meaning
