once you're comfortable enough with a person and I'll admit it can take a long time - we joke with one another - make fun of them (jokingly never seriously)
like for example one friend irl is vietnamese and obviously (as you may or may not be aware) but I'm chinese and there is this long running joke between us that she calls me bloody PRC (people's republic of china) and I call her bloody viet...

i've been using the term since then, dunno why, to give him a sense of accomplishment ig in the end, he's a dear friend of mine and I genuinely appreciate him. (dear gawd, don't let him hold my accountable for this statement for the next 5 years!)
