Sometimes they kill them off for character development of other characters, and I don’t believe he’s dead either, too much foreshadowing

why would he be in the season two announcement if he isn’t returning for season two… Also he quite literally hasn’t been confirmed as dead.

I know. But he could be in season 2 as for example flash backs or something. Which I don’t think is the case this time, I do think he is still alive. But I’m still not getting my hopes up too high.
